Tasmania’s finest disc golf course welcomes spectators and players of all
ages and ability to the annual Two Heads Disc Golf Open. This is the fourth year of this event, and we’d like to think that every year it gets just a little bit better.
Reasons to Celebrate
This year’s tournament is particularly special as the Poimena course celebrates its 25th birthday. Also, in October 2011, Australia’s premier disc golf tournament, the National Championships comes to Poimena. Lastly, the course has just been treated to eight new baskets and some major tee improvements thanks to co-funding from Glenorchy City Council and Sport and Recreation Tasmania.
ADG and PDGA Tour
Two Heads is the first event of the 2011 Australian Disc Golf National Tour and is also classified as a PDGA C-Tier event.
The course is beautiful and challenging, characterised by its elevation changes, bush terrain, sloping greens and stunning vistas over the River Derwent and Mount Wellington. The course is open to the public all year round and disc golfers share the reserve with walkers, kite flyers, BBQers and wildlife.
The main competition is singles stroke-play running over two days. Two rounds per day, minimum of 54 holes. The climax to the tournament is the Open Division Final on Sunday afternoon.
Two Heads is one of the great Australian disc golf weekends, don’t wait to register, do it now!
